About me

I’ve spent ten years taking games from concept to shelf — and I know the European funding side from the inside.

I’m Roberto Semprebene, a games industry consultant based in Rome. For ten years I ran production at Storm in a Teacup as COO and Studio Manager, shipping titles like Close to the Sun and Steel Seed from early development through release.

Today I work as an independent consultant — a fractional producer and external COO for studios and partners who want production experience paired with a real understanding of how projects get funded.

Production

Ten years running a studio’s production, from the inside. As COO and Studio Manager I was responsible for planning, coordinating teams, and steering projects through the full arc — development, milestones, and launch. I know what it takes to keep a game on track, because I did it, not because I read about it.

Shipped titles: Close to the Sun and Steel Seed (Storm in a Teacup). [Roberto: aggiungi qui, se vuoi, una riga su piattaforme/publisher o un dato che parli a un pubblico internazionale — ma solo se accurato.]

Funding, from both sides of the table

What sets my profile apart is that I’ve been on every side of the funding process. I serve as an independent evaluator for Creative Europe MEDIA, assessing video game development applications — so I know what a strong European application looks like, because I read them. I’ve also written and won one, from the applicant’s side.

For an international studio, that means one advisor who understands both how a game gets made and how it gets funded — and can help you navigate European funding without treating it as a mystery.

How I can help

I work with studios and partners as a fractional producer, external COO, or funding and publisher-readiness advisor — scaled to what a project actually needs, whether that’s ongoing production support or a focused engagement. If you’re planning a project, weighing a European funding route, or getting a game ready to pitch to publishers, that’s where I come in.
